This incredible opportunity was made possible by the Small and/or Rural Breakfast Trailblazer Award, recognizing our district’s improvements to the nutritional quality of our breakfast menu. The summit brings together financial and school nutrition professionals from across the country, united in their passion for improving meal quality and advocating for universal free meals. Need some extra help with homework? Don’t forget that we have Homework Help available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-4:45! This is a great opportunity for students to get additional support or just have a quiet place to focus and work. Ms. Gander will be there on Tuesdays, and Mr. Burkum on Thursdays. Take advantage of this chance to stay on top of your assignments!

SECOND HARVEST IS COMING! With evenings getting cooler and daylight hours shortening, we know that fall has arrived. Thoughts of creating hearty soups and stews stir up in our heads, and where better to look for nutritious ingredients than at your local Second Harvest Mobile Pantry? On Wednesday, October 23rd, they will be at 212 Main Street in beautiful downtown Gays Mills, to give out dairy products, eggs, milk, bread, canned goods, meat and produce. Did someone say “chili” or beef stew or baked potatoes? How about chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese sandwiches? Don’t forget to pack hearty lunches for work and school. Try to get here no earlier than 1:30, as we will begin at 2:00 and continue until 3:00. Look for Harry to direct you to the sign displaying the day’s selections, proceed to the next greeter and tell them the number of households you’re picking up for, and the number of people in each of those households. Also, if there is any item on the selection list you do NOT want, please tell the greeter. The wonderful crew of North Crawford kids is back to push carts to your car, load bags and boxes in the trunk, and send you on your way with a smile. And as always, at the Gays Mills distribution site, we are grateful for the generosity and great food selection brought to us by Second Harvest. In September, we gave out food for 350 households. We have a big week this week for our North Crawford student-athletes, as the WIAA playoff series begins for all three sports. On Tuesday, the girls volleyball team will host La Farge at 7:00 p.m. in an opening round Regional game. On Friday, the football team will host Almond-Bancroft at 7:00 p.m. for a Level 1 Playoff game. On Saturday, the cross country teams will travel to Prairie du Chien at 11:00 a.m. to run in the Sectional meet. 📢 Reminder: Parent-Teacher Conferences Today! 🏫 Just a quick reminder that Parent-Teacher Conferences for grades 6-12 are happening today from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM! These are pop-in conferences, first-come, first-served. 🔍 We’re also excited to bring back the Scavenger Hunt! The North Crawford School District will host our Annual Meeting and Budget Hearing Monday, October 21st. The Budget Hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by the Annual Meeting. The meetings will be held in the school's Large Group Room. The budget hearing is the first opportunity for the district's stakeholders to hear about this year's district budget. The Annual Meeting is a chance for the electorate to vote on a variety of resolutions. We hope to see you at these important district meetings. #TrojanPride

🎅 Save the Date! 🎄 Join us for Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, December 15th, at the North Crawford School District Performance Center! Enjoy a delicious breakfast, fun games, festive crafts, and a special visit with Santa himself! 🎁 This event is a fundraiser for the senior class trip, so come support a great cause! FALL FESTIVAL is October 26th with activities running from 4 pm to 7 pm. Free Entry into the events. First Graders learned more about healthy eating as part of our human body unit with a special visit from Jen Kapinus. Along with teaching us about eating healthy fruits and vegetables, she made us some delicious roasted sweet potato and apples. It's always fun to learn while you eat!

Congratulations to the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade flag football teams. Both teams won the Scenic Coulee Ridge & Valley end of season tournament. This is the first time that both teams won the tournament in the same year.

This week we celebrate National School Lunch Week. Gone are the days of cardboard pizza and mushy peas. Thanks to our School Nutrition Team at North Crawford, our students get to enjoy locally grown and raised fresh produce and meat, a fresh salad bar, and highly nutritious breakfast and lunch. Thank you to the dedication of our team at North Crawford; Jennifer Kapinus, Janet Pittsley, Paulette Riley, and Lisa Stoehr.
