Hitting the Wall on a Cold Rainy Day! #TrojanPride
Today we had our 2nd annual Iron Chef Grilled Cheese Competition. Six teams competed, and each entry was unique and absolutely delicious! Our panel of six judges had their work cut out for them! The winning sandwich was a dessert sandwich with blueberry cheese, lemon pie filling, thinly sliced honey crisp apples, grilled to perfection, and dusted with powdered sugar. We hope to feature it on our lunch menu in May. Thank you to all our contestants and our judges (Brandon Munson, Tina Volden, Lori Foley, Max Moderski, Annie Caldwell, Chris Wettstein), and Jen Kapinus, Food Service Director, for sponsoring the event.

Due to poor field conditions, the baseball game in Highland today has been postponed.
The Track Meet at Kickapoo is still on and being run as normal.

Due to the weather, the following changes have occurred to the athletic schedules today:
Middle School Track Meet at Lansing is cancelled
Baseball and Softball game vs De Soto are postponed
Middle School and High School Track practices are cancelled
Softball practice is cancelled
Due to continued slippery road conditions on ridge tops and secondary roads, the North Crawford School District will be closed today, Monday, April 17th.
Due to the winter weather, the North Crawford School District will run on a 2 hour delay today, Monday, April 17th.
After school today the North Crawford Schools went into a soft lockdown as a precautionary measure. At no time were students or staff in danger. This was a preventive measure only. Thank you.

Reminder to all North Crawford students who are interested in playing Summer Rec baseball or softball. Registration forms and payment are due to the offices by the end of the day on Friday. If you need a registration form, you can pick one up in front of the elementary office. #TrojanPride

Thank you to those who took a moment to vote and support the Sandwich Throwdown competition. We ended up in 2nd place and raised $1200 to support our NC families. The winning district (enrollment of 18,000+ students) received 7,382 votes; they are 97% bigger than North Crawford. We only lost by 935 votes; if that doesn't show you the strength of our community, I don't know what does! The contest truly reflected the support we often see in our small community. Again, thank you for your support.

Congratulations to NCHS Junior Blake Zirk for his incredible performance at State Youth Bowling last week in Appleton, WI. Blake bowled his first perfect 300 game at the tournament! Awesome work, Blake!!
Earlier this week the Second Graders were able to visit Norskedalen Nature and Heritage Center near Coon Valley. Students enjoyed a forest hike to learn about trees and caring for our forests with Pine Cone Patrick, exploring furs and other trinkets with Blueberry Jack, a hike on Troll Trail, and a trip into the local history with Ms. Mary. We enjoyed making connections and sharing our knowledge with the volunteers at the center from our adventures in our CKLA Knowledge Domains throughout the year.
Gaga Ball! We have a new gaga ball pit on the elementary playground and it has been a hit! The Beyond the Bell kids helped assemble it and learned the rules so they could teach others. All grades are also getting hands-on practice during PE class. All ages are loving the game.
The Education and Job Fair is open. So proud to be able to host this incredible event and connect kids to our communities. We look forward to community members joining us from 3:00-5:00 pm.
Breakout sessions are underway at the College and Career Fair. Sessions include the National Guard obstacle course, SWTC Ag trailer, K9 Officer, and Scenic Rivers power distribution, as well as many others.
